Container monitoring

Container monitoring is becoming increasingly popular with the need to build fast, ship quickly, and not worry about creating virtual machines. With increased popularity comes an increased vulnerability, which means not enough monitoring. Microsoft has made several key implementations in the container monitoring spectrum.

Containers have two levels of monitoring: the container itself and the application running inside of the container. Monitoring the container itself is a good first step, but even if the container is healthy, that doesn’t mean the application is healthy. Many containers can continue to run and look healthy from a CPU/memory perspective, but the application running inside of it could be dead.
