Summary and Quiz
Revise and test your knowledge of Amazon Bedrock.
In this lesson, we’ll summarize what we’ve learned in this chapter and test our knowledge of Amazon BedRock with a short quiz.
Summary
Here’s a summary of the most important key takeaways from this chapter:
GenAI in cloud
Generative AI, or GenAI, is the branch of AI that can create content such as images, videos, text, and code. It has multiple purposes, such as creating chatbots or media content. AWS provides us with GenAI services, such as Amazon Bedrock, which offers access to pretrained foundational models from various providers.
Foundational models
A Foundational model (FM) is a generative AI model that has been trained on large datasets and can be fine-tuned for specific tasks. Amazon Bedrock provides multiple foundational models, which should be selected based on our application’s requirements.
Fine-tuning
Fine-tuning refers to the process of taking a pretrained foundational model and adjusting its weights (the learned values that control the model’s output) and parameters (the internal settings that govern how the model processes input data) to optimize its performance for a specific task.
Evaluating the foundational model performance
Evaluating foundational models ensures they are aligned with desired outcomes regarding accuracy, relevance, and efficiency. For example, a model used in customer support needs to provide accurate responses promptly, while a language model may require an evaluation of fluency and coherence. AWS Bedrock provides tools and services, such as model evaluation metrics and customization options, to simplify and enhance evaluation processes. and allows us to regularly monitor models to keep them aligned with organizational needs and user expectations.
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)
Retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) is an AI technique that combines the strengths of retrieval-based and generative models to produce more accurate, relevant, and informative responses. In Amazon Bedrock, we create knowledge bases, which are structured repositories of information that hold valuable data, documents, FAQs, product guides, or any domain-specific content relevant to a business or application.
