Variables and Data Types

Understanding how to declare and work with variables is a fundamental concept in any programming language, including JavaScript. Variables allow us to store and manipulate data, which forms the core of most applications.

Variable declarations

JavaScript provides three ways to declare variables.

The var keyword

The var keyword, used in older JavaScript versions, declares variables with function scope, meaning they are accessible throughout the entire function in which they are defined. Furthermore, variables declared with var can be redeclared within the same scope.
